Giving Back Through Mentorship
At Raiz Marketing, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. I am proud to serve as a mentor for the E.L.L.A (The Entrepreneur Latina Leaders of America) program, supporting Latina entrepreneurs in their journey to launch, grow, and thrive.
Through ELLA, I’ve had the privilege of guiding passionate entrepreneurs by sharing marketing strategies, business insights, and personal experiences. Mentorship is not just about teaching—it’s about empowering others, building relationships, and inspiring the next generation of leaders.
Damaris first became involved with TIRRC in 2017 when she joined the Tuition Equity campaign aimed at securing in-state tuition rates for undocumented students in Tennessee's public colleges and universities. During her time with TIRRC, Damaris held meetings with elected officials, engaged with media outlets, and motivated others to join the cause. She has since committed herself to various initiatives, including defending DACA, mobilizing voters, and providing accurate information to immigrant communities. Damaris' willingness to volunteer, step out of her comfort zone, and advocate for the rights of others has made her an invaluable member of her community. As a DACA recipient, she is personally invested in the cause and remains dedicated to making a positive impact for the Hispanic community.
Over the past several years, Damaris, our marketing consultant/founder, has been involved with the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC). TIRRC is nationally recognized for its multiethnic, multigenerational coalition building, effective legislative advocacy, and award-winning communications initiatives. TIRRC organizes both individual immigrants and refugees, as well as organizations that serve immigrant and refugee communities.
Conexión Américas is dedicated to building a welcoming community and providing opportunities for Latino families to belong, contribute, and succeed. Each year, we help over 9,000 individuals and their families achieve their goals of starting businesses, improving their English language skills, supporting their children's education and college aspirations, and becoming an integral part of Nashville's social, cultural, and economic landscape. Our mission is to empower and uplift the Latino community, and we are proud to work towards this goal every day.
Raiz Marketing has had the opportunity to volunteer at Conexion Americas and teach marketing classes as part of the Negocios Prósperos (Prosperous Businesses) program. It was a rewarding experience to be able to share our knowledge with aspiring business owners and micro-entrepreneurs. Raiz Marketing is proud to continue our work with Conexion Americas in the coming months and give back to the Hispanic community in Nashville. Additionally, in the past, we have provided ESL classes as part of their ongoing commitment to supporting and empowering the community.
The ability to read and write is the cornerstone of a better life, and adult literacy rates have an impact on all aspects of Nashville. The Nashville Adult Literacy Council (NALC) is committed to providing multi-generational independence through literacy. The goal as a tutor is to provide the support and resources students need to improve their literacy skills and achieve their goals.
